About
Trinisha Erwin Aksa is a writer and director born in Makassar, Indonesia but raised in Jakarta. She is currently based in Los Angeles and has graduated from the New York Film Academy with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Filmmaking. Her passion lies in crafting emotionally resonant narratives that give voice to those who struggle to articulate their inner worlds. Her body of work spans short film and collaborative projects, unified by an empathetic lens and strong emphasis on emotional truth.
Growing up in Jakarta, Trinisha was exposed to people from a wide range of cultures, religions, and economic backgrounds. While their lives looked vastly different, she noticed something universal–the emotions they carried. From love and grief to shame and joy, these shared feelings have become the base of her storytelling. Her films often take these innocent and quietly human emotions and magnify them into character driven narratives, creating portraits of people caught in the tension between personal desire and social expectation.
Trinisha draws deep inspiration from her everyday life, personal experiences, and the conversations that linger long after they’ve ended. Her goal is to tell stories that don’t just entertain but invite reflection. As she continues to grow her voice as a filmmaker, Trinisha is committed to championing Southeast Asian perspectives and creating films that feel both intimate and universal.
